I’ve started to arrange groups of pots I’ll be called Still Life “x”, this is the second collection, hence it’s title, “Still Life II”. It’s comprised from eight pieces, gathered and arranged and assembled into a group that I hope stays together, or is displayed together, as pictured. I’ve always loved spending time creating these lines of pots and thus, to whomever purchases this, hopefully we can figure out a way of displaying it in a way that stays true to its original configuration.

All of these have been hand thrown and trimmed using a high iron stoneware clay body, they’re coated in a variety of glazes, a white, pale green and dark green feldspathic crackle glaze, and they’ve all been reduction fired to cone ten, (1290ºC), in my Rohde KG-340 gas kiln.

These pots are dishwasher safe and food safe, although please take care, washing by hand is the best option. All my pots are made with a high iron content clay body that is heavily reduction fired. This means that sharper edges can be susceptible to chipping if they’re bashed so please handle your pots with care. I personally always hand wash my handmade pottery and tend not to use them in microwaves. Remember, this isn’t mass produced factory ceramics, each pot is individual. Additionally, crackle glazes like this can stain naturally overtime with liquids such as tea or coffee. The pots themselves are highly vitrified and there’s nothing toxic or dangerous that can leach out from the crackle glazes. This is simply a byproduct of having such surfaces and you’ll find that crackle glazes, or crazing like this, can appear in wood fired pots, soda fired pots and salt fired wares too.
