Angular pourer with cups, green feldspathic crackle glazes

£450.00

Dimensions:

Pourer: 13 H x 9.8 W
Cups: 6 H x 6.3 W

A pourer with a thrown spout, which was then cut in half and attached to an angular vase form. You can watch the entire process here: https://youtu.be/HMM7JJg-NO8, this and the cups were thrown using. high iron stoneware clay body that are coated in pale and dark green feldspathic crackle glazes all before being reduction fired to cone ten, (1290ºC). It pours wonderfully although it helps to pour gently initially, don’t try to go too quickly otherwise the liquid will spill over the top of the incised hole. You’ll get the hang of it.

These pots are dishwasher safe and food safe, although please take care, washing by hand is the best option. All my pots are made with a high iron content clay body that is heavily reduction fired. This means that sharper edges can be susceptible to chipping if they’re bashed so please handle your pots with care. I personally always hand wash my handmade pottery and tend not to use them in microwaves. Remember, this isn’t mass produced factory ceramics, each pot is individual. Additionally, crackle glazes like this can stain naturally overtime with liquids such as tea or coffee. The pots themselves are highly vitrified and there’s nothing toxic or dangerous that can leach out from the crackle glazes. This is simply a byproduct of having such surfaces and you’ll find that crackle glazes, or crazing like this, can appear in wood fired pots, soda fired pots and salt fired wares too.
